Sparrow (CH) (Bryan Coletta) is a Swiss DJ, producer, and pianist whose sound bridges soulful musicianship with cross-cultural electronic influences. A lifelong instrumentalist, Bryan’s background in harmony, composition, and improvisation forms the core of his productions. Born into a family of musicians — with his father, jazz guitarist Francis Coletta, having collaborated with icons such as Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra — Sparrow’s foundation is rooted in soul, jazz, and funk, all of which continue to inform his creative identity.
Bryan was the producer and musical architect of the duo Sparrow & Barbossa, becoming a key figure in the Afro house landscape. He delivered chart-topping records including Yeke, Nterini, and Champion, and has collaborated with artists such as Rampa, Josh Milan, Dele Sosimi, and Idd Aziz. Sparrow also expanded into crossover projects with Sia, Deadmau5, Gypsy, Blessd, and PJ Sin Suela, showcasing his versatility as a producer. Sparrow & Barbossa’s debut album Seven Seas was an incredible success, with over 30 million streams across DSPs. More recently, Sparrow & Barbossa partnered with Modjo to remake Lady, which reached #1 on the Afro House Beatport charts, adding another standout moment to their catalogue.
Sparrow has developed a powerful international touring footprint, performing everywhere from intimate club rooms to major festival mainstages. He has shared lineups with Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and Louie Vega, cementing his presence among the scene’s leading artists. His touring history includes notable performances at Tomorrowland (Belgium), Coachella (USA), Circoloco (Ibiza), Space Miami, and the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland).
In 2022, Bryan founded Tortuga Records, giving a home to artists and musicians across Latin America and beyond, helping define a genre known as “Caribbean House.” Giving up-and-coming artists a platform, supporting new talent, and offering them opportunities to release their music has been central to the label’s mission. Tortuga Records has hosted notable releases such as Light Down (Meloko), Finesse (Anis Hachemi x Emir), Grown & Sexy (Sparrow & Barbossa), and Love (Band&dos), among others.
As Sparrow steps into his new chapter, he continues — and broadens — the musical direction established within the duo. Sparrow’s sound draws on Afro rhythms, soulful grooves, and the harmonic sensibility that defines his style, rooted in musicianship but made for the dancefloor. Sparrow’s upcoming releases continue his evolution as a solo artist, carrying a sonic identity that is both personal and distinctive. His future direction will not be limited to Afro house; it will also expand into house music more broadly, reflecting the diversity of his musical background.
